* **Reference photo**. Each of the layers in Photoshop gives you access to a reference photo. You use the layer’s properties to change specific elements in your photo.

Sometimes an image has layers that include different adjustments to the photo. 1. **Open an image in Photoshop**. In our example, we opened a picture from our `What-If` folder, _100 Essential Photoshop CC_ – _2.0,_ as shown on the left in Figure 8-1.

You can either choose the amount of blur you want or apply a filter to give a special look to your image.

The Blur Tool can be really useful if you want to add a slight blur to your image.

Crop Tool

The Crop Tool allows you to crop or “snip” parts of your image. You can also define the size and shape of the crop.

You can crop images easily, even if it’s not your first time. You can also crop images manually or apply one of Photoshop Elements’ selection tools.

Channels Panel

The Channels panel opens to the right of the image window. It lets you move color tones in the image by using the tools on the panel.

The following is more or less a front page story from the paper today… God I love Sundays. I am so grateful for my church. The older I get the more I love the old hymns…

The area was part of the “burn-over”. It has not been burned since the church was established over 150 years ago. Local residents were unhappy with the original church that was built… the country church is much more of a community center now. The history of S.S. Mackay continues to flow on… happy S.S. Mackay Sundays!

Well, this is where the S.S. Mackay is a little different… most of the congregation is in need of the clothes… they are from the Catholic Diocese who works hand in hand with the bishop at the Catholic Church down the road in Santa Rosa. On any given Sunday they have a clothes closet full of clothing in need of the hands of volunteers. You do not have to be Catholic… you do have to be committed to serving a greater good. Just shows what faith and belief in our creator can do.

Our Story

A mother, a Christian, a wife, a writer, a retired elementary teacher, an RN, a gardener, a chef, a crafter, a counselor, a friend, a co-worker, and an aunt… just to name a few. I am definitely a work in progress… and proud of it!
