Set Image of Tasmania sounds like a great idea. The description on their web site really excites me. But I decided to download the screensaver and try it out in Windows 7. It has a few problems.

First of all, it has confusing options when it comes to choosing what images to display. If you choose to show all the images, it shows a different image every fifteen seconds. If you choose one image to show it doesn’t show it all. But when I chose to show all the images it doesn’t show anything. The second, more serious problem, is that it also erases the original file and then displays the image in what appears to be a GIF image format. This is so hard to fix if you are using say. a Word document or something. I have closed it now and restarted my computer and it is still displaying it in the wrong way. And it won’t display the images I have chosen to show. What a problem, just when I decide to download it it starts acting up. I have deleted all the images and downloaded again, but it’s still displaying the wrong image. Please, set this screensaver with the right images.

@Dontknow: The GIF image is just an example of the image quality and the change of image when opening the program. I’m developing this program using WPF and not GDI. The images are not in the correct format as an original image can contain transparency.

I haven’t tried your setup with GIF images or PDFs. I really like the option of having a screensaver. Many people close their screensaver and just put their laptop to sleep. I think many people would benefit from seeing a nice image every now and then.

The pictures don’t really look bad at all. But to read the web site they are clearly reduced in quality. I am talking about some of the images on the skins page. They are far too small to be of any use. I tried to use one of the skins for myself and a photo I took myself. You can see the difference.

On the other hand, some of the images look very good. I have ordered one and will try it when I get home.
