So, the screensaver is not working because you have installed the wrong Version of Drivers.
To show the clock on the right of the date, you need to install the following version:

You can either find your drivers with the search function of Windows, or you can just click on the link at the bottom of this message.

Also, you will need to use the latest Vista SP1 x86 Build 4844.

I found this screensaver very annoying. It is usually the default setting on my XP machine. I don’t like it at all. It appears to be running in the system tray (if that is what it is called) and therefore I am unable to turn it off. I frequently log off my machine without turning the screen saver on so it is a real nuisance. I was so annoyed I uninstalled it, which was a mistake. It was doing me no good and was taking up disk space.

Your desktop is shown on the background, making it appear as if it is used by you all the time.
The current time is shown in a scrolling number column that is constantly moving and provides you with the latest time.
You can show the time of the day, month or year, or you can scroll from one time to the next. You can also pause or resume the screensaver at any time.
You can change the current time and date of the clock during installation by clicking the buttons in the control panel.
Scrolling Number Clock has been tested on all versions of Windows, from Windows 2000 to Windows 8.
You can also easily rotate and scale the background images as follows:
1. Change the orientation of the clock:
Left/right – 90 degrees
Top/bottom – 180 degrees
Left/right/top/bottom – 270 degrees
Right to left – 90 degrees
2. Change the screen resolution:
Increase – Increase the screen resolution
Decrease – Decrease the screen resolution
In addition, you can change the background color of the clock.

1) Show time and date: In the screensaver, the time on your desktop and current date and time are displayed in scrolling columns. You can adjust the number and size of the columns by clicking the plus and minus buttons on the bottom of the Screensaver Options window.
2) Settings: You can configure the screensaver by opening the Screensaver Options window.
3) Background color: You can change the background color of the screensaver by clicking on the button that corresponds to the background color.
4) Start Time: If you want the screensaver to start at a particular time and date, you can select a different start time for the screensaver. You can select the start time from the Start Time list in the settings.
5) Log Off Time: In the Settings window, you can set the time your computer will go into standby and power off.
6) Quiet Mode: You can choose to have the screensaver show up and go away quietly in the background by configuring the screensaver in the Settings window.
7) Transition Time: You can set the length of time that the screensaver takes to move from the beginning of the day to the time. You can specify the transition time in the transition time list in the settings.
8) Delay before wakeup: In the settings window, you can set the duration for the screensaver to wait before it wakes up the computer.
9) Oldest Number: You can choose how long the screen will display the oldest number from the list of numbers in the settings.
10) Oldest Time: You can choose how long the screen will display the oldest time from the list of times in the settings.
11) Number of Digits: You can choose how many digits the current time or date will display in the settings.
12) Duration: This option allows you to choose if the screensaver stays on the desktop for a specified amount of time or if the screen will switch off quickly.
