This isn’t a particularly recent question, but I guess it might help for the legacy crowd.
I’ve always found it annoying that Photoshop’s “trial” is actually owned by Adobe (it has never been a “pro” version). This is a bit like a copy of Office 365 being owned by Microsoft (since they aren’t updating Office). It would be great if it had some sort of dual licensed version, like Krita. (I guess that would mean somehow making Krita a “Professional” version.)
Having said that, I realize that it is legally impossible to release “free” software for Mac (and Windows), as far as licensing is concerned. Adobe/Photoshop/Gimp could, if they wished, just go and do the same thing that Microsoft does, which is that they sell someone “a limited time” license for a fee. It would be trivial to produce a similar offer with Photoshop, but I guess that would be contrary to the “open” nature of what makes OSX great. For some reason, Adobe chose to design their trial differently and that’s just life.

How to resume resource loading after a “Cancel” is clicked?
I am building a simple splash screen widget for an Android app.
In this widget, a ProgressBar is shown while the app is loading. When the activity is ready, the ProgressBar is hidden and a Spinner is shown instead.
My first problem is when a user clicks the “Cancel” button in the spinner, the ProgressBar is not hidden. There is no option to close the spinner without hiding the ProgressBar.
My second problem is when the splash screen is loaded, the app is ready for use, but the ProgressBar remains visible for a little while before it is hidden and the Spinner is shown.
How can I fix these two problems?
