Converting list of lists into a dictionary

I’m having trouble converting a list of lists into a dictionary.
For example, I have the list:
l = [[‘a’, ‘b’, ‘c’], [‘a’, ‘b’, ‘d’], [‘a’, ‘c’, ‘d’]]

And I’m trying to have the output be:
dictionary = {‘a’: [‘b’, ‘c’, ‘d’], ‘b’: [‘c’, ‘d’], ‘c’: [‘d’]}

I’ve tried:
dictionary = {}
for el in l:
dictionary[el[0]] = el[1:]

But it just returns:
{‘a’: [‘b’, ‘c’, ‘d’]}

What am I doing wrong?
